RAM What is RAM Random Access Memory (RAM) is temporary data storage that the CPU uses during calculations. The more RAM a device has, the more calculated results the CPU can store - which means less time the CPU has to do the same thing over and over again. In other words, the CPU can check RAM to see if it has already made a particular calculation in the recent past. If it has, it can use the pre-computed results instead of wasting processing time recomputing the same calculation.

In short, more RAM means a more efficient (and faster) device. SWAP What is SWAP Swap is, in short, virtual RAM. With swap, a small portion of the hard drive is set aside and used like RAM.

If the dialog says, 'No USB devices or running emulators detected,' then you need to set up and connect your device or launch an emulator by clicking a device. Supporting Tung all Android devices (root access and Kernelswap support). Things needed: Root permission; A Custom kernel with Swap support. The computer will attempt to keep as much information as possible in RAM until the RAM is full. At that point, the computer will begin moving inactive blocks of memory (called pages) to the hard disk, freeing up RAM for active processes.

If one of the pages on the hard disk needs to be accessed again, it will be moved back into RAM, and a different inactive page in RAM will be moved onto the hard disk ('swapped'). The trade off is disks and SD cards are considerably slower than physical RAM, so when something needs to be swapped, there is a noticeable performance hit.

Unlike traditional swap, Android's Memory Manager kills inactive processes to free up memory. Android signals to the process, then the process will usually write out a small bit of specific information about its state (for example, Google Maps may write out the map view coordinates; Browser might write the URL of the page being viewed) and then the process exits. When you next access that application, it is restarted: the application is loaded from storage, and retrieves the state information that it saved when it last closed. In some applications, this makes it seem as if the application never closed at all. This is not much different from traditional swap, except that Android apps are specially programed to write out very specific information, making Android's Memory Manager more efficient that swap.

All the above cited issues raise due to lack of RAM in your smart gadget thus what all user need to do is that to upgrade the RAM space i.e., to increase the RAM space. Below few best working and experimented methods of increasing the RAM space have been cited follow up them and increase your RAM space of android device. Best Working Methods to Increase RAM of Android Device Increase your RAM space with two best methods which allow boosting and increasing the RAM space of your smart phone or gadget which runs with the android OS of outdated versions. Both the methods are absolutely free of charge while the initial method is based up on using an application from Google Play Store and the other method allows user to increase the RAM space manually.

1 st METHOD: INCREASE RAM IN ANDROID PHONE USING APP Increase Android operated smart gadget RAM space by installing and running an application called. ROEHSOFT RAM Expander is an amazing app which allows the users to users of Android operated smart gadgets to create partitions as of like hard disk of a desktop on the SC card or Memory card so as to utilize the SD card or memory card as an extended RAM. Which means the more space on your SD card or Memory card so vast would be your RAM space and acts as a Virtual RAM for your Android phone. Download ROEHSOFT RAM EXPANDER (SWAP) (PREMIUM)* Steps to download ROEHSOFT RAM EXPANDER (SWAP) Step 1: Open Google Play Store in your android device.

Step 2: Browse for ROEHSOFT RAM EXPANDER (SWAP) in App store. Step 3: Tap on to install option and install App in your Android device. Step 4: Open the ROEHSOFT RAM EXPANDER (SWAP) app and increase the app. TAP here to Download the app. (Similar to Roehsoft RAM Expander) We commend every user to check if your device is compatible to ROEHSOFT RAM EXPANDER (SWAP) app. Features of ROEHSOFT RAM EXPANDER (SWAP) app are as follow – Free SD card memory as a RAM use (SWAP RAM / SWAP MEMORY) – Swapfile RAM expansion up to 4.0 GB (file system limit) – No limit on SWAP partition!

– The usual performance degradation when paged not occur with sd card from class-8 – Widget for PNP swap (swap on / off swap) – Detailed Memory Information & Analysis – Autorun – Swappiness kernel parameter set. – Easy foolproof use (1 click optimization and automatic calculation) – Supporting Tung all Android devices (root access and Kernelswap support) Necessary Steps to Check before Using RAM Expander to increase Android phone RAM Blindly never ever follow up all the measures which are being stated over here and there in web or suggested by any of your dear ones as it would ruin and your device may malfunction. We do commend the users before downloading the cited app to check the readers for the compatibility of your device with the application.

In order to check if your device supports the application readers may install the app MemoryInfo & Swapfile Check, to check for it before installing the ROEHSOFT RAM EXPANDER (SWAP) app. • Install ROEHSOFT RAM EXPANDER (SWAP) app on your Android phone.

• Tap or click Swap Active in order to create Swap file and Enable it. • Tap or click the option Active Swap. Hi everyone, Mess up something, so Need help.

I have Karbonn S9 rooted phone. The phone comes with 2 internal memory and 1sd card slot. Internal phone memory are: (1) 1 GB shows as internal storage (2) 16 GB – shows as Phone Storage. I can extend memory by using external sd card by upto 32 GB. Since Internal storage is just 1 GB, it’s always difficult to install new apps.

Even I transfer apps to Phone Storage, it keep showing every now and than short of storage. So i decided to transfer phone storage to internal storage to increase memory size. NOTE: I DON’T HAVE ANY EXTERNAL MEMORY CARD IN THE PHONE. What I did: 1) Downloaded Link2SD and installed it. Done 🙂 2) Reboot phone and started in recovery mode, done 🙂 3) In Recovery Mode Clicked on – Advanced – Partition SD Card – 4096 MB – Swap 0 MB. 4) Rebooted Phone, good till now, no problem. 5) Open Link2SD, no popup shows to Link new created partition to join with internal storage:'( 6) Click on 3 Dots – Storage Info: a) Internal (10% Free) – Total 0.98 GB, Used: 0.88GB, Free: 102MB b) SD card (86% free) – Total 12.83 GB, Used: 1.69GB, Free: 11.14GB c) External SD – /storage/sdcard1 d) SD Card 2nd Part.

– No Found From the above, it is clear that Phone Storage is partition properly. Phone storage decreased from 16GB to 12 GB. One additional External SD is now showing but no memory is showing. In Phone File Manager, only Phone Storage of 12GB and Internal Storage of 1 GB is showing. IN PC: ====== Before it used to show 2 Disks (1) 16 GB and (2) 1 GB. Now when I connected phone to PC. It shows 1 Disk with 12 GB and 2nd disk only name but no memory is showing.

I also can’t select it. IN MINI PARTITION TOOL – Free Edition: ====================================== Installed and check the memory info. It shows “H Drive: 12.83 GB, Used 1.69 GB, Free: 11.14 GB” CONCLUSION: =========== I am sure that partition is done. Now I need to activate new partition but some way. Maybe formatting. Problem is new partition is visible only in Link2SD’s Storage Info and nowhere else.
