The fight against alien occupation continues into a second action-packed season of Colony. Once outside of the Los Angeles bloc Will seeks out his old partner to help him find his lost son; meanwhile his wife Katie pressures her sister to use her influence with the new bloc governor to try to get her eldest son out of a work camp, but unknown to Katie her son has become radicalized by a new human terrorist group. The show tackles some interesting and controversial themes this season, such as suicide bombing and CCTV surveillance. And, the writers do a good job at ratcheting up the tension and suspense as Will and his family are beset on all sides by the totalitarian government, radical terrorists, and internal strife. There are also some interesting additions to the mythos, including an outside resistance movement and an alien inspired religion. However, the direction of the series necessitates the exit of several interesting recurring characters.
